Idaho Pediatric Readiness Recognition Program

Idaho Hospital Pediatric Recognition Program

The goal of this program is to improve pediatric emergency care in Idaho's hospital emergency departments by providing initial stabilization, treatment, and necessary transfers to definitive care because children have unique health needs that differ from adults especially when acutely ill or injured. To accomplish this, the Idaho Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program developed a system that is attainable, promotes evidence-based practice, and integrates into the federally administered program National Pediatric Readiness Project (NPRP).

There are three levels of recognition: Pediatric Capable, Pediatric Advanced, and Pediatric Expert. This program is voluntary and at no cost to facilities. Refer to the manual to get started and become Pediatric Ready!
